Healthcare for the youngest members of the family

Here at Vets in Zillmere we LOVE puppies and kittens. Luckily most of the time all we need to do is preventative health care which is fantastic as it means your furry young ones are really healthy. These are some of the services we offer for puppies and kittens:

• Physical examination: We will examine the puppy or kitten and check for any signs of illness or abnormalities.  
• Vaccinations: Puppies and kittens will receive vaccinations to protect them from serious diseases. Usually they will need a course of vaccinations. We will discuss the vaccination requirements for your pet on an indivisual basis.
• Parasite control: We stock a range of anti-parasitic products and can offer you advise on the most suitable products to use. Some of the parasites we are concerned about are fleas, ticks, and worms.   
• Desexing: Puppies and kittens usually get desexed to prevent unwanted breeding, and for better health outcomes. Most kittens can be desexed by 6 months old but in some cases it is better for your puppy to wait until they are a little older. We will discuss this with you on an individual basis.
• Nutritional advice: We may recommend a specific diet for your puppy or kitten based on their specific needs.  
• Follow-up care: We may suggest follow-up visits to monitor your pet's development, ensure their good health, and catch any potential illnesses early.
